I have a bout that is of similar nature and strata. A very pleasant hone to use and it produces a fine comfortable edge. Grit probably 9-15K if I were to guess. It continues very fine cutting while polishing an edge.

5 1/2" X 2 1/4" picked it up from "hitzicho" if you google the " black escher" there is some pretty cool and interesting info on it .. i just ran some edges across it tonight , could see a major polishing effect on the edge so far , i know 2 of the 3 i just honed came off a 12k nani and had the crisp feel ( that i hate) so we will see what happens
