Default Wm Greaves & Sons Brass Frameback

I just got this in the mail, a Wm Greaves & Sons Brass Frameback. The seller said it had bug bites in it so he filled in the holes with CA. I don't know if I'll leave those scales on or make new ones. They really aren't in bad shape & are pretty translucent.

I'm thinking either sand those scales up, or replace them. Never was a fan of seeing a blade through the scales...I like thing's a bit of a mystery LOL

Couldn't agree more, that would look pretty sweet, with that brass frame peaking above the black horn scales!

Exactly! The brass with the steel & black...........................It would look a lot better than it does now. I don't mind ones I can see through but not all the time. I do like the ones like the Sta-Sharp I have in show n tell where you can see only partly through them...........like tortoise shell.

Cracking razor, the scales look great. I love the look of.the blade through them when closed.

Pfffffft. The bug bites add CHARACTER!

The CA? Not so much. LOL.

Neat old blade. Can't help but wonder what they were thinking when using soft brass rather than steel. Seems like the bevel angle would be ever changing as you honed it.

    Looks neat though.
