    It was a challenge to hone but shaves like a dream now. They originally had a comb on them for a guard. Like an early safety razor or something. They save without them just fine.
    ive saw one other besides yours and mine , i was thinking heavy tape to start and go from there ..

    Yes just like straight razors from the factory. The should cut, but there again how well.

    While I spent a few years as a meat cutter I've never used anything like that set but I would presume that a good sharpening would be in order. But there again if they don't know the difference then you can impress them once you do sharpen them!

    Notice that I said 'sharpen' them not hone them. I hone razors but I sharpen knives/totally different worlds

    my next learning will be knives on a stone , i can do the rods but not the stones ..lol

    If I am not mistaken 10pups has one. I honed mine with one layer of tape. Yours has a some hone wear and my go better with two layers. I would try a bevel set at one and see how it goes.
