antique stores/malls trip ..
well apparently everybody is selling " very old / vintage " straight razors as i probably saw over 50-60 .. prob was they were almost all over $100 , even had one guy tell me that collectors try to find the ones with chipped blades because it shows they were used more !! i told one guy if that huge chip is from being used then it was being used for the wrong thing ..lol..
but anyway i did find one that i liked .. not sure i like the price but the theory if you want it bad enough you will pay might come into play here , so a trip back might be in store ... i dont know why i like it , maybe the wood box ? maybe the handle ? or maybe cause i cant stop buying razors !!! who knows but this is what it looks like ..lol

Thanked: 49I like that one too, especially in the set. I dont have any that old. I would struggle not to buy it. Good luck.

The wood box draws me to it. Don't think I have seen one in a wooden box before. I like the handle also. Don't use a DE all that often, but I do like the looks of it. Not sure if it is supposed to have a longer handle to fit in the groove, but the whole thing looks nice.

The box is for a Gillette 'Big Fellow' and the razor is, unless I'm badly mistaken, a Gillette ball end tech. With the brassing and all I'd say the box is worth more than the razor. Check out ebay for Gillette 'Big Fellow and you'll see examples of what they are supposed to look like and what they go for in varying condition. Personally, if he wanted more than a sawbuck for that I'd pass.
