Size: 32.8 KB The wife got this one of the bay and I was suppose to get it for Christmas. I live In Tn and it went to the lower end of Florida. Then it came back to TN. Looks like 11/16 and I in pretty good shape . polished it and honed to day and waiting to use. It has a few bug bits but that's just character. Would you call it a wedge or near wedge.

From what I can see it appears to be a wedge.

I saw that one on the bay but passed on it even though it IS a nice piece. Myself, the scales are alright for now but I would eventually change them out for another set like them or make some for it. It appears to be a wedge which is a good razor. it has plenty of meat so you have a good wife. As for the postal service, I don't know what their problem is! I had one I won on the other side of town here, and it went across the country to Minnesota then back to here. They made some changes to their route hr=ere a few months ago & I used to get my mail around noon & now it doesn't get here until around 4pm to 7pm & their excuse was to be more efficient but I don't see an improvement but rather the opposite!!!!

    Very nice! Merry Christmas indeed.
What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one

    Beauty!

Every time I get one like this I find it hard to shave with. They go in to my display sets. I don't want any wear on fine pieces like these.
May your lather be moist and slick, the sweep of your razor sure, and your edge always keen!

If you tape the spine & hone it, you won't see any difference. I again love shaving with an old piece of history wondering who used it last! I have one from the late 1700's that I shaved with & got one of thefts shaves ever!

Shaved with it today. it really does shave good. I do wish it was a little heavier I like the added weight.

You can always get a larger wedge! Blade width also makes a difference though so you may try a larger wedge & see how it goes. You might love the heavy wedge or you might prefer the one you have now. There's so many different factors involved. Some people prefer a half hollow or quarter hollow. You will have to try different ones but if heavier is what you want, then try a heavier wedge.
