new suit on a naked blade
well i ordered some bone scales ... for a specific razor !! they arrived and ended up being shorter then listed and not even close enough for the razor in mind , (seller took care of me ) and what i didnt notice was they were jigged .. ( hate jigged look) .. i figured i would work them to what shape i wanted and since my ban saw is burried right now i would just try these out on another razor .. so i dig through a small pile and found this Friedmann & Lauderjungs wedge ....
so i fit this fine blade into these scales , did some shape work , then hand sanding , and tossed in a lead wedge ...still have a bit more light sanding on the bottom but that will be later this eve , and a quick fix came out good .. to the hones i will go in the next couple days ..

Thanked: 1184Casting all the bone jokes aside :<0) It looks like you made the best out of the situation. I am not crazy about the jigged look on razors either but that actually doesn't look bad. You tone the jig down some or did they come that way.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

i hit them on the belt sander on the inside to thin them a bit , then just hit them quick on the textured side to knock it down a bit , then used a little pressure on each end to kind of completely get rid of the texture .. you can kinda see where i removed more around where the washers are and gave it a little contrast and a different look

that bone has a textured that has a rise in it , i guess the best exam
ple i can use is if your familiar with the bottom or base of a antler , it kinda is like that vs. smooth ..
thank you .. a key point on the scalees is that i stacked washers and while dong the pivot pin the smaller washer pooped off and i didnt notice till it was 2 late so i crowned all the pins over to hide it ..lol , had it been someone elses razor i would have re pinned it but im happy ..
