Marsden
Here is an old Marsen I picked up off the bay a few months ago from our own Silverloaf. He didn't expect it to go for so little but was happy that it was me that did end up with it. I have thought about rescaling it & still most likely will but whoever made the scales for it did a great job on it & was done long ago & has a name inscribed on it "Waterlawn" or something like that. I take it the original scales were straight like these & that the owner reproduced them the best he could. There are several Marsden's listed in my Tweedale's Directory, so I don't know which one it is but the razor appears to be pretty old & my guess is around the 1790's-1810's due to the short stubby tail. I might be wrong though. Marsden Bros go back as far as 1696.

The Marsdens were very rabbit like, and thus the name itself is a bit of a rabbit hole... But I'm about 95% certain it was George Marsden.
Look closely at the top of the spine. I wouldn't be surprised if it had a faint 'Magnum Bonum' etch. It's been heavily modified, but I'm pretty sure it was originally a much beefier blade.-Zak Jarvis. Writer. Artist. Bon vivant.

I wouldn't change the scales on it,,, just clean them, polish the hardware,,,,, they fit the razor, AFAIC.
