Shumate
Picked this up last week. It's ugly but the geometry looks real good. I am going to try and clean it up a bit but mainly, it's for honing practice.

I don't know about the ugly part, but I do know my Shumate is a fine shaver.

Thanked: 1185Pretty razors are overrated anyway. My Shumate has a nice personality and is an excellent shaver. My money says once you get an edge on it you won't be able to resist putting it in your rotation (even if she ain't the prettiest girl at the dance.)
The older I get, the better I was

I just acquired a Wester Bros with the same intention. It cleaned up really nicely, and I'm sure yours will as well. Watch her become your favorite once you put a nice edge on her.

True. While Shumates are usually quite pedestrian, they made some cool smiling blades. Good steel.
They started in Texas before moving to St Louis.
Found a pic of my smiler!Good stuff, Shumate!

I rest my case.

I think the Genco/Geneva's are good razors too. Here's one I got in a small lot of razors & when I got them, there was an old leather pouch not shown & in it was this Geneva with a beautiful smile to it!
