Thread: Curley Sheffield Straight Razor

Here's a Curley Sheffield Straight Razor with a reversible safety guard. I found it interesting. Notice it has no tail.

I'm looking for a blade guard. for the Curley.

I have the American version ..lol, I did the same as you .. I looked at it , then figured that's interesting , then bought it .. I took the guard off and honed one of the blades I had for it , it was a odd shave ..

Thanks alpha444. And gooser, I had no idea there was an American version. I learn something everyday! I found it in Goins. They did in fact have a factory in Brooklyn, NY. They aren't listed in Tweedale's.

I didn't know there were 2 versions, I was looking at mine yesterday and put it away now I'm going to have to get it back out to see which one I have. Engine I think yours is missing the Monkey tail look at the pictures that Gooser posted the tail moves so that the guard can be moved from one side to the other and also locks it in so it doesn't move

Slam, I think you're right. I just looked at mine & it looks like it is missing. It's hard to tell.
Looks like one in the pic on gooser's computer with the same scales as mine is missing as well.
