Thanked: 0Help identify my razor please.
I received this razor as a university graduation gift the other day and I loved the look of it. It was bought in an antiquated pharmacy in the streets of Paris.
It seems to be a Thiers-Issard, which I know to be good quality of course, but I can't seem to find ANY information about it online. I have found similar ones but they aren't quite the same. I feel that it is 5/8 but I can't be certain.
I'm starting to worry that it might be fake, not that I would be able to determine that, so I put the question to you connoisseurs:
Is my new razor a fake and if not can you tell me about it?
Thanks

I'm sure someone who is expert in Thiers-Issard will be along soon! That's not me.
Just call me Harold

It isn't a fake as you can see from Marti's post. You have a very nice TI there, it looks like it has very little hone wear. Get it professionally honed & get yourself a strop & learn how to use it because that is the most important part of owning a straight razor. You can practice with an old wide belt & butter knife so that you don't accidentally cut a good strop. Good luck!
