Thanked: 1Looking for any information about this strop
Any information about this strop I would really appreciate. It was found in a friends garage and was his grandfathers or great grandfathers, we are not sure but I told him I would find out what I could about it and knew this was the best place to ask. Thanks in advance for the help. This site has been a huge help to me in my transition from canned goop and regular blades to the joy of straight razor shaving!

Thanked: 1I don't think he has any interest in learning to use a straight. I told him I would see what I could find out about it by doing some research and getting some info/feedback from the gentlemen on this site and pass that information on to him. This site has helped me tons of times since I started using a straight a couple of years ago and has helped cut my learning curve probably in half by learning from others mistakes and also taking the advice of the men who have been doing this a while. Even with good teachers it is still a process he doesn't seem interested in. He, in a nut shell, told me unless it was a rare piece or there was something unique or special about it he was not even interested in it as a display piece and I could have it since I am the only person he knows that is interest in anything to do with straight razors. So we will see, chances are he will not want it and give it to me anyway, but if I find out something about it that makes it special I will give him all the details since it is his and I couldn't live with myself if I wasn't 100% honest with him (even though I do want the strop for myself LOL!!!!!!)
