Thread: German Straight Razor's

I have two straight razor's that I know nothing about and would like to get some input from professional's. They both are brand new-never used with the boxes. I'd like to get as much info as possible and their value. Thanks in advance.

I believe that is a Gutmann Cutlery Company. They were an importer founded in the mid 1940s in New York State (mount Vernon perhaps?) went out of business around 1997.

Their knives are usually pretty good. I haven't ever used their razors.

My Goins Ecyclopedia shows Gutmann from 1947-present. It says a Hen & Rooster is stamped on the tang, made by
C. Bertram. It also says the importer is in Mt. Vernon, New York. Other trademarks used are "Explorer", "Edge", & "G.C. Co.", so you got it!
