There was a little surface rust around the pivot area but I sent it away for a clean, polish and hone. It feels comfortable to hold and shaves nicely.
It sits in a lined cigar box with 2 other straights, a Kropp 6/8 and a King Cutter 5/8. The KYOEI is my favorite so far.

Sorry for your loss. I take it you might have gotten it off eBay. If so, send "an item not as described" & ask for a refund. Ebay will also step in & help you. It's ashamed they sold you a cracked razor! I hope you get it sorted out & get a refund.
