What I have also learned from reading posts is that the older cotis are more favorable. Either way I'm happy as pig as crap. it's all about the hunt. I just tried the Filarmonica and it pops has already. I'm going to finish it on this stone and see what kind of shave I get. I'm going to hold off though and read up on cotis and techniques and stuff before I start honing though.

Edit: If you are looking for information on how to use a coticule go to coticule.be, Ardennes coticule or search the forums there are lots of people who use this particular type of hone. Some love it other say its a niche hone. I am just learning how to use one myself. There are many videos as well on the net. Hope this helps.
