Glad I was mistaken . . . would have been a shame to have to alter the features of that beauty.

In conclusion, all was well-worth the effort. Quality is quality no matter the country.
Dulled it out on a glass bottle, one layer of tape, 50 light strokes on a worn DMT brought it back to sharp. A few more strokes cleaned and evened the bevel(quite small!). Not much on a freshly-lapped Naniwa 1k had it popping hairs and onward to a moderate pyramid on Norton 4/8 and straight to Escher for a long, half-slurried tour.
Stropped it 10 strokes on CroOx, 10 on FeOx. 50 on fabric, 100 on leather, a '67 vintage Russian strop from Japan.
Such a shave has never been surpassed, FME. Left off the balm and a/s and headed out. No irritation whatsoever.
A real Italian treat!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Thanked: 1184Um why not hit the contact button and send them a pic ? You may spark some interest in the company and get them making a few more :<0)
They could probably give you a whole vault of historical info and would more than likely be happy to hear something like this is still sought after. Would be an interesting conversation.Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

I had thought about that! I bet they could date it as well and tell of their razor production.
Anyone have any thoughts about the absence of 'Italy' making it pre 1891??"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."

Thanked: 884,
It's possible.
It's also possible it wasn't made "for export" and TONY brought it with him when he rode the boat to the promised land. Upon arriving at Ellis Island, he was assaulted with advertising from King Gillette and his crew. TONY, wanting to be a real American, fell into the madness and packed his old straight away. Whereupon it was found 50 years after his demise by one of his yuppie punk grandkids who thought he could sell it for enough to buy a new I-phone.
So there, we still don't know any more than when we started.Member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club, participant SE Asia War Games 1972-1973. The oath I swore has no statute of limitation.

Un bello rasoio, Bruce !
Looks like they wouldn't have much problem with rust at the factory at their altitudeThe white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.
