The 17 did a great job. the scales are a little loose but being as old as it is I don't think I will try to tighten them. they don't give any trouble while shave. the razor handles nicely and the size of the razor didn't give any trouble at all. it measures out to be 7/8. The 14 measures out at 8/8 and i'm wondering if that's going to give any problem. so far 7/8 is as large as I've used. so far I've used 6/8 square and round point henckels and platinum henckel that is 11/16 and this 7/8. i'm still waiting on the 4/8 henckel from Russia. I think the next one I look for will be a 5/8 so i'll have one in different sizes.

It wouldn't hurt to give the 17 a few little love taps, not many but just a few very light ones & it will probably tighten up.
