Thanked: 4826I soaked the scales in oil and used WD-40 and steel wool then Mothers and steel wool. I did go through quite a bit of elbow grease. I have been picking at it a little here and there trying to decide when I was done and how much was enough. For the age of it the pitting is remarkably shallow. It would have been an easy go to sand it off and put a polished finish on it but I did not think it suited this blade.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!
