old wostenholm, im thinking george senior, pre 1820s perhaps. awesome wood scales, im absolutely in love with these! whoever made them in the past did so with care yet obvious expedience, roughly hand tooled finish but they took the time to round the scales over as seen from the end, and the maker relieved the inside to allow the tang some room to breath. centers nicely in the scales and functions seemlessly opening to full and returning closed. i couldnt be more happy to leave a set of non-original scales on a razor!

I'm the same way, silverloaf knows when I won one from him on the bay. it was a Marsden that someone long ago made some wooden scales for it & carved their name into them but I would never change them because e of the scales being made so long ago, possibly back in the late 1800's.

Thanked: 1184NICE !! Almost twins :<0) I like that spine shape also. In fact you got me digging through stuff now.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

this is one of my all time favorite blade shapes. The beveled spine, the wide tang, the smile to the blade as well as the full notched point (not sure I'd call this a spanish notch), I love it al! I was half expecting an etch on that spine like several I've seen in this exact design. Cant wait to see what you dig up!

I love the beveled spined razor's! It adds a touch of class to them. I was just looking at a W&B I have with that style blade yesterday!
