I keep looking at the second picture but I just can't figure it out. I assume it is the same arrangement as the first but from another angle. I can't make sense of it, all I see is a sort of Terminator 3 molten metal blob.

I was a bit befuddled too at first, but if you tilt your head about 30 degrees to the right and look at the picture at an oblique angle from the right hand side to the left you can see it a bit easier. The right hand side of the spine looks a bit like it should be the Eagles beak as well.
Sorry for such a cumbersome description but that's just how I was looking at it to see it properly.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

Very nice score!!!!! I'm a big fan of Northfield Cutlery & the first one I got was a rattler like that but it had broken scales with rosette collars but only 2 were left on it. I did find another old set of scales & at the time I got the Cat Eye collars from eBay which was the closest match. I know I have seen someone on here making some original rosettes but I believe they're much harder to make than the old bullseye's which can be done with a lathe by making a male & female punch plus I also saw some done with a screw & nut type setup, same design. I also have a Wade & Butcher FBU Rattler. Here's my other Northfield Rattler I have now which has a 13/16" blade:

Hi there, I'm new to this forum but been learning stuff from it for several years. I sure do appreciate the knowledge and passion you all share here - it's helped me a lot. I enjoy collecting, working on, using, learning, trial and erroring, looking at, thinking about, practicing patience with, etc. etc. straight razors. Having lived a few years before in Northfield, they are one of the razors I always look for.
I have a Northfield Ratler here that seems to have lost one of the T's from Rattler. Strange because all the other examples I see online have "Rattler" with 2 T's. Has anyone seen or does anyone have a "One T Northfield Ratler"?

Thanked: 884The stencil for the etch probably got messed up and they decided to run it anyway.
Only other possibility I can think of would be if some other company was claiming exclusive rights to the word RATTLER and they changed it.
Either way, it's a neat variation.Member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club, participant SE Asia War Games 1972-1973. The oath I swore has no statute of limitation.
