    Default Heljestrand

I have a very good friend who asked me about wet shaving about a year ago, and I gave him some advice. He started with a double edge and quickly moved to a straight. He became a bit of an addict (much like many of us), and has been buying up razors, soaps and brushes to feed the habit. He recently acquired this Haljestrand which had never been used....when he sent me photos I was very happy for his good fortune and how well he did. I told him it was a fantastic score.

Sunday we met for lunch with a few fellow watch collectors and he brought out this beauty of a razor. I told him it was spectacular and then he blew my mind by telling me it was mine. I said I couldn't accept such a generous gift but he ensured me that he wanted me to have and use this razor. I reluctantly accepted it as he convinced me it was really what he wanted. I used it with the factory edge and it is really an incredible blade. I love the thumb notch on it and it handles like a dream. Finished with a BBS shave.

Thanks for letting me share my story.

    Best,
    Rob

    It is a #31...and I didn't buy his lunch.

There was a group of about 12 of us and everyone paid their own bill...I definitely owe him a lunch. Monday we are meeting at The Classic Edge....afterwards lunch is definitely on me.

Great story, and evidently, a gentleman friend indeed.

Your a lucky man. Simply elegant. My heli 31 is one of my favourite shavers. The only things my mates give me is lip!

Quite a nice find and in very good shape! I have a gentleman's pair of 31s and love them. Very handy and nimble little blades! You're a lucky man to have such a wonderful blade handed down so generously.
