Mine is humbled by some of the great collections I have seen. Mine is baby stuff compared to the great ones.

Through the years I have bought and sold a parade of razors: big Sheffields, American barbers, vintage and modern German, French and Spanish, and custom. I bought too many, sold too many, sold some I should not have, and many I was wise to sell.

Eventually, though, you settle on what you like. I don't particularly care for the new Thiers-Issard razors. I do have a sweet 6/8 Le Grelot. Dubl Duck doesn't impress me. Puma is overrated. So is Filarmonica. I like Globusmen. Gotta. Carl Schlieper. I have one C-Mon 6/8 square point, a gift from a dear friend, and I love it.

My pride, though, is a pair of Wade & Butcher 6/8 smiling blades with barber's notch and ivory scales. May the craftsman who made them in the 1850s continue to visit that great barbershop in heaven.
