    @ HArt: I feel for you, not so long ago I bought two near mint straights on French ebay with scales that are too short.

    I was thinking the exact same thing after looking at it a few minutes. I think the blade has been untouched but it has been rescaled. I agree with Tom, I have had to do this several times & it looks like you barely have enough room to shorten the scales & rein it with matching pins & collars. You also have the option to make new scales for it if you don't like those. It's ok, not a bad looking blame. It's a smiler!

    Sorry for your disappointment. I've felt the same, both from unscrupulous sellers (filthy pigs!), and from my own RAD induced lack of detail orientation...
    I also am having to quit buying for a while, its biting into Florida vacation and my lady is putting some serious pressure on. ...
