    Default Friedr. Herder Abr. Sohn

Hi gents, this is my latest acquisition, Friedrich Herder 77 13/16 square tip, inox steel. It seems never used as seller claimed, blade has no hone wear or cleaning marks but scales are little bit dirty(nothing that can't be clean). As far as I read about the brand, very very old Solingen family brand. This one is newer of course. What you guys think? Thanks.

Thank you Hart, I don't know much about this razor but I feel so high about it.

There are quite a few of those Herder 77's around. That is the nicest one I have seen. I have one with a nice blade that was rescaled. The blades are fairly heavy, and great shavers. Enjoy

Thank you for info and kind wishes CZMark, it's nothing fancy but somehow I liked it very much when first saw one of these. Then I had crossed this one and jumped on.

Yes, I do not think you will be disappointed at all. Bought mine from a member here a number of years ago and have been very satisfied with it. Good choice, enjoy.

Thank you very much Bob. Any honing tip would be great from you guys, coticule or synthetic progression up to Naniwa 12k, I can't decide. I want to try coticule but This is my first inox steel razor so I am a little bit dark in here.

They shave awesome. They seem to have been very popular in Japan both the stainless and the carbon versions.

Yes mainaman, like Filarmonica razors. May be company exported too much back in days. Another question came to my mind, does soaking the blade only in 1:16 diluted barbicide for 10 minutes cause any harm or discolor(blueing/darkening etc)?

You are welcome. I do not have a coticule but use a Naniwas progression to 12K which seems to work well enough. I use that progression on my other Inox razors too.
