That is a huge razor! Can't wait to see it when it's been restored.

That is a very nice score. You could enter the lumberjack competition with that one! I always wanted one. Maybe one of these days..................

LOL - so this is where it went!
Excellent - stamp looks perfect - I find these to be fantastic razors, never expected they'd shave so well, beautiful soft, smooth steel, velvet like shaves from another classic English blade. Congrats!

LOL - I am very pleased with the one I have, and another razor I believe emptied my PayPal account just prior....that one of sashimi's is a real beauty, only other I've seen that big and that nice is Wolfpacks, it's the same size and he has done a stunning restoration of it - one of the nicest razors I've ever seen.

I don't know what you are referring to.
This one showed up on the local Dutch 2nd-hand site: marktplaats.nl
They occasionally show up there, but most are in the 6/8 to 8/8 range and often have serious hone-wear.
I agree on the steel though. I've had two so far and they were great shavers.
Cheers,
Herman

That's Awesome!
Kinda gives new meaning to the phrase :

Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably, And never regret ANYTHING
That makes you smile." - Mark Twain

Wow! Where did you get that???
Is there some secret place these swords are sold? Some dark alley in Sheffield that leads to a 6 inch thick oak door that opens to an underground men's straight razor club where French and German virgin NOS straight razors are sacrificed to a full moon and only the elite of the elite get to bid on these behemoth blades???!!!

That's funny.
No, unfortunately these clubs don't exist. (I think).
As said, we have a local Dutch auction site and then there's a Belgian 2nd hand auction site.
With a frequency of one GB every 6 to 10 months, they're rare in our country too.
And again, even if they do show up, they're often in bad shape or too small.
This was a lucky one by any means.
I'll try to stay away from shaving with this blade at full moon now though...
