Thanked: 85Paddle Strop with Drawer, from Flea Market
Greetings everyone,
I just came back from my local Flea Market, where I picked up this paddle strop. The leather is not in great condition, but it could probably still be used. However, I like it because it has a neat little drawer on one side, to store your razor in. The drawer, which is mostly metal, pulls completely out, and it has a small reservoir for rouge at the far end. I had never seen one like this, so I bought it for four dollars.
After I got home, I checked the strop over with a magnifying glass, but I couldn’t find any maker’s mark. I checked eBay and the forum, but I didn’t find another one like this. I was beginning to think this was homemade, but then I found the same strop on Etsy. They claim the strop is from the 1800’s, but I don’t know how they determined that.
Here are some photos of the strop:
If anyone likes knives, I also picked up this Filipino Bowie at the same Flea Market. The blade is thirteen inches long, and the knife is just under nineteen inches overall.
Thanks for looking,
Chris

I love those paddle strops with the storage drawer. I have three of them. One is missing the outer box which protects the strop. Nice score!

I were lucky, Mine came with a razor in it.
