Size: 22.8 KBI saw this and thought about it and decided to try the bone scales one more time. the last one i tried was broken in shipping i hope this one gets to me in one peace. The blade looks like very little wear and not much oxidation. I don't know if it is 5/8 or 6/8 either way i think it'll work out pretty good. if not i can always list it on the bay. I do believe the scales are bone but i could be mistaken they could be ivory. If bone what would you clean them with and would you use mineral oil on them help with them being brittle. You know I've really got to stop this. Josph Rodgers and Son. I believe it is a near wedge want know until it gets here.

Yes, that would be hard to resist. Nice find, congrats. I think it is only stamped Sheffield so it is old enough to stand a real good chance of having ivory scales but as you say hard to tell from the photo.

It's got those little specks in it but when i get i can know for sure. the add said that the scales were in good shape with no damage and the photos looked good. the last one with bone i got was closed too tight and the scales were broken in the wedge pin area. hope this one gets here not damaged.

Ebay? I'm pretty sure I saw that one today. Should be a good one. Scales look like bone to me.

It is a beauty. Bone is quite easy to work with and camel bone is very nice. I think it is more dense than bovine bone and does not have the dots that the bovine bone has. I think you are perhaps developing a bit of a habit.

Very nice score. Looks like it will turn out to be bone though. Can't see any grain like Ivory would show.
