    Default Fontana, Marconi, Elliot

Fontana. A really nice setup for a solingen blade. 6/8, notch, jimps in the notch, no double stabilizer. Someone did a really hamfisted repair on the back scale.

Marconi 16. Really nice blade. Reminds me of a Peaso but with different branding. Hopefully, the steel is as good as a peaso. I just need to tape off the gold and give it a light cleaning.

wm elliot. I will get this going quick. Kind of blade I usually get someone else started on.

The marconi box has the same fontana sticker adhered to the back so they are related. Who made peasos anyway, dorko?

Fontana and Marconi were by the same maker:

    • Marx & Co. Founded in 1887. Solingen. Brand names: 'Chamberlain' (1904), 'Chinn' (1904), 'Fontana' (1926?), 'Juventus' (1921), 'La Raya' (1907), 'Marconi' (1905), 'Marx' (1910), 'Malwa' (1911), 'Mimas' (1907), 'Omdam', 'Rimmel' (1914), 'Tris' (1923-4), 'Xon' (1911), 'Zephyr' (in use by 1922).

Dorko made a lot (really, a LOT) of razors, but Peaso was not one of their trademarks:

    • Paul Adrian. Solingen-Höhscheid, Eifelstrasse in 1920; and Solingen, Grünewalderstrasse 92 in 1939. Brand names: 'Mona Lisa' (1920?), 'Mona Lisa Luxus', 'Peaso' (1920), 'Wasserträger' (1920).
    • Dorko–Dorten GmbH & Co. Solingen in 1983. Brand names: 'H.H.', 'Hebräische Universität in Jerusalem', 'Modoso-Gold', 'Try Me Sir', 'Turko', 'Wug'.

    Lovely razors, by the way.
