I removed the blade from the scales and cleaned both. I will try to epoxy the cracked side and keep until I may need them. I made a set of scales out of gray horn and the wedge out of a lead fishing weight. the blade looks good and I will hone soon. the wade and butcher that turned out to be a older regrind well that's another story. I have some faux black mop and will make a set of scales for the blade. when I get that done I'll hone both razors. I may let the older wade and butcher go and keep the Joseph Rodgers . all depends on how they shave.

I found this about CA. Look here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyanoacrylate
Under Properties it says this.........."Because the presence of moisture causes the glue to set......."
Good luck with your scales.

Sometime back I was reading on a forum about model plane racing. During a race in Arizona (very dry), while doing repairs in between races using CA the guy had to blow on glued spots and the moisture from breath acted as a catalyst for hardening the CA.
In the winter this could be an issue in cold states. Something to consider. A humidifier could do the trick...“You must unlearn what you have learned.”
