    Default 8/8ths Scaleless Custom

Recently purchased this 8/8ths custom scaleless razor from Boxer Custom Razors in Brisbane, Australia. It took him about sixty hours to make. Its like shaving with an axe but I do like it. What do you guys think?
You should do a search on the internet he makes some nice looking razors.Name: IMG_0715.jpg

Is the notch in the blade decorative or does it serve a purpose? Also what is the steel and grind? I am sure I am not the only one wondering about the answer to those questions...I can't see the edges but it looks like there is a lot of filework done on the handle, it is a very interesting looking blade

    Hi Ernie 1980
The slot in the blade is decorative and has no other purpose that I have discovered. As to the steel, Stuart the maker from Boxer Custom Razors told me it was 01 hardened to around 60 - 61 HRC. Its all greek to me though. As the the grind I do not know.
    regards

Nice looking razor! Quite unique. It is a big blade, but that seems to be a preference for many straight razor shavers. I'm favoring my 8/8 Sheffield right now.
How do you like the handle? Some of the Boxer razor handles look more comfortable than others. I checked out the Boxer site, but I couldn't find any prices or a pricing guide for his razors.

I like the holes in the blades on his site. The slot in your blade may be just for decoration, but it also reduces the weight.

Razor looks creative, I am concerned that the groove is made, it can be dangerous for the fingers.

+1. that groove looks like it might knick your fingers if angled wrong.
