Default Just won these at auction

I saw this auction listing a few weeks ago and decided that they were mine. Mine, mine, mine. So I started selling several DEs that I had laying around that never get used to hopefully raise enough to make it so. Well the auction was last night and I got a little scared because it went to all the way to my max bid but the gods of fate were on my side and these beauties are soon to be in my hands. It's not the original box but it sure looks good regardless.

Very nice set and I agree, this would be one to to all-in on...

They look to me much older (like 1830-1850 if I was guessing and the wise ones will chime in..) than the case.
But then I can't read the printing on the lining which may hold more info.

Fantastic set! Thank you for sharing..

Very nice score on that set! Good thing I didn't see them or you might have had some bidding competition

The only thing I can make out on the lining is AUBRIL which I believe to be a French cutler. So while the box doesn't match the razors, I ain't even mad

I was able to find this excerpt from an antiques book on google books which has a John Barber razor with seemingly identical scales dated 1828. So your guess was a solid one indeed. I can't wait to get them to see if the masonic symbol is on the pile side.
