Antique Shop Dovo
I found this today in an old antique shop.
Got it for "less than a song."
Before:
Spent about an hour cleaning and honing
After:
Can't find much in the library on this other than a picture with no specific date of manufacture.
Pretty cool, I thought, for under thirty bucks though.
Thanks for looking!

Thanked: 3224Very nice find. You may find some info here STRAZORS.com - all about classic razors - DOVO, Fritz Bracht, Solingen, Germany. . Look at the trade mark stamp and see if you can match it to one in the link. That may give you a rough time frame.

After looking under a 10x loupe at the trademark stamp, the razor was made between 1903 - 1953.
Narrows it down to being one of the older ones.
Thanks Bob!!

That is a sing-ular beauty! Congratulations!
Keep it away from your other razors and check it every few days for rot. The polish is nice and what was under it is not. It may be ok but only time will tell. Sometimes the corrosion will follow the grain of the metal. The bevel looks ok now, but keep it under observation. I had a couple similar and didn't, so I am mentioning this.
Good luck!
