Thread: Les Français sont arrivés! (The French have arrived!)

After a mostly patient 10-day wait, these 6 French straight razors arrived from their homeland! The scales on all but 2 are probably "goners", but the steel, while pitted to some degree or another on all, seems to be in decent, restore-able shape! Oo La La



2 - Thiers Issard 69 Frameback
1 - Thiers Issard 69 Shoulderless
1 - Le Minet 5/8 Round tip
1- Rameau FT(?) Round Tip (Appears to possibly be a wedge or near wedge?)
1 - Gelle Freres Faux frameback

The last two razors I have little knowledge of so if any of you French razors enthusiasts have info to share, I'd be eternally grateful! Merci'

It is hard to tell, you would have to post closeups of the two in question but the two on the bottom. The Thiers Issard frameback & the other one look to have frowning blades. Aside from that, all French made straights are of very good quality & excellent shavers!

Good catch on the TI frame back. One frame back has a frown that will need some work and the Le Minet has a little frown as well
