    Default Rodgers times two

Just scored these in a cool if not a little bit ratty double coffin case:

Pair of Antique Joseph Rodgers Sons Straight Blade Razors in Orig Coffin Box | eBay

The blond scales are shot and will definitely have them rescaled in honey horn. The dark horn looks serviceable and will see how both razors respond to my newly acquired hones.

Those blades should recover nicely. If you could repair those honey scales I would be amazed. I have seen some crazy things happen around here though. I think you did well.

Thanks. I'm only a few months into this and am just getting the hang of what I like and those two look good from here. I enjoy shaving with old Sheffield wedges and quarter hollows so I'm hoping these will hone up well with my meager assortment of stones. If not, I have a good friend who is more than capable of bringing them back to shave ready.

Idk if those scales are salvageable but am going to see if there's anything that can be done before scrapping them for new.

Appreciate the encouragement. Really enjoy the hunt almost as much as I do the shaving!!

The other thing is you can save them for later. Early on I replaced several sets of scales that I went back later and repair, because I had learned how. Typically unless they are broken I do not throw any of my part away. Get a pin vice and a split point bit and you will be able to more easily save all of the old collars too. The new washers just don't look the same.

You did very well with those - congrats!

I found a matched pair of Wade and Butcher's, pretty much for the exact same price, and they looked about as beat up as those two.

I sent them to SRP Member Wolfpack, he turned them into these , here's the link.

Wow, Phrank!! Those are really special. Perhaps I should touch base with Wolfpack!

This is what my W&B's looked like when they arrived, and this is a good pic, the scales were very dry, extremely brittle, they were in rough shape:

One problem though with Wolfpack, so don't say I didn't warn you - he does such a fantastic job you won't want to touch them when you get them back!
