Thanked: 22T. Scargill
Picked up a Scargill tonight. Have an Old English that I suspect is a Scargill although it's not marked as such and it's a great razor. Hopefully with a little help this one will be also and will join the regular rotation:

I have several Old English. One says T. Scargill, Sheffield on it & another just says Patent on it. I also have one that says G. Wostenholm! I also have one that appears to say "arber", thinking I. Barber or John Barber. There were several different versions of that Old English razor.

Thanked: 22My Old English has "Patent Temper'd Steel" on the tang and no maker's mark. Since the patent holder for patent tempered steel was John Barber, I suppose it could be a Barber, but from my research it's more likely Scargill.
Regardless, it's a great shaver and holds a good edge. Hopefully this one will too.

The same razor was made but many makers so it isn't a rare one but the fax frame back T. Scargill is much less seen than the old English.

Thanked: 22Just came today. Here are a couple of quick shots on my dresser. Don't think these cellphone pics are any better than the seller's:
There is a good deal of hone wear but it looks solid and the edge is fine. Actually it's not too dull and I'm going to see if I can bring it back with my old Pike combination barber hone. Wonder what species the scales are made of? Definitely homemade with no spacer at the end.

My damn computer!!! My comment above was supposed to say faux frame back but it overcorrected itself. If I had known that, I would have corrected it in time but I think everyone knows what I meant.
