One more to play with
Just scaning the bay and saw this one. The scales look like no chips or cracks so even though the blade is not quite what i like i made an offer and won it. It's a Fredrick Reynolds 5/8 and looks like a wedge. needs buffing and honing . I really hope the scales turn out to be natural and not just bone but bone with no defects will work just fine. anyway the wait is on.

Thanked: 4828I think they are likely bone. It's always one more isn't it. I really need to get back to restoring. I need to sell a bunch to get some money in the buying account. I could buy more if I were better at selling. LOL. What is not quite what you like about that blade, it is a good brand and a wedge to boot?

I like Sheffields and Fredrick Reynolds is a good name. I just wish it was just a bit larger. I get good shaves off the 5/8 blades it's just that the larger blades catch my eye more. I think your right about the bone but you can't blame a guy for wishing. I to have a few I need to sell but you know it's just so hard to let them go. As a character in the movies once said "My Precious"

with a little cleaning I think the blade will be good. the scales aren't as white as the photo but I do think they are off color ivory. I don't see any of those little spots that bone has. now I could be wrong.

Thanked: 4828camel bone has very few of those little spots. It can be tricky, I think it is a great alternative to ivory.
