Not completely by hand Rob. Although I don't have a contact grinder...really wish I did! I take advantage of a buffer, and a Dremel as well as lots of elbow grease with different grits of sanding. Mostly...as I've said before...just lots of patience and time. I go slow and steady. When I start a project like this I really never know for sure how long it will take. I just start and keep going until I feel I've done the best I can.
