Thanked: 0Beginner's Gear Aquired!
Good Evening Gents!
Thought I'd post my recent acquisitions to start me on this journey.
Bengall & Magnetstahl 11/16" from fellow Aussie & forum member Substance. Great advice & service from him. Came with 2 stropping compounds, instructions, storage sock, honing procedure he went through etc.
My wife keeps sniffing the Taylor of Old Bond St cream. Loves the stuff.
The 2 Jack Black products were a gift from Men's Biz when I ordered everything else.
I've yet to have a go with the straights. I keep having after work drinks, & am not keen on learning with a beer in one hand.

Nice starter kit! Get one of these to avoid full hands. It's Classy because wine!

Muddy, I apologize if it appears I was disparaging your gear. Not the case! I'm so new to wet shaving, every thing I see brings more questions.
How is your gear treating you? Soap satisfying? Blades sharp? And you didn't mention the make of your brush.
Having a mentor gives you great advantage. I came to this alone, unassisted. Without fine gentlemen knowledgeable in the fine details, I'd be much more ignorant that I appear.Last edited by DeObfuscate; 11-09-2015 at 03:45 PM. Reason: increase clarification

Thanked: 0All good mate. No offense taken. The brush is a badger from an aussie online shop - Mensbiz. Not a name brand one.

Thanked: 0I've had a lot of sharp knives, and I mean proper sharp, but these razors are something else.

Thanked: 580Looks like you are off to a good start, onya Substance. The Bengall might be a plain jane but they really are a great razor, one of the best IMHO. Take the time to have a go Muddy, you will never look back. Best of luck.
