Late find on the Bay
I just received these today . I was lucky enough to get them off the bay for very little because of condition i guess. That and pure photos. The first one is a Joseph Rodgers and i believe it started out as a 8/8 Hollow ground. The rust was mostly a coating and not deep. the chips was another thing. When i honed them out it took a while. I used a naniwa 400 to get the chips out then sanded and buffed and honed. I'll find in a few days how it shaves.
The second one is a Fenny Tally Ho. i haven't measured it yet but believe it's a 11/16 maybe a little more. the horn scales was dry so after cleaning and buffing the blade i coated it in neats foot oil and wrapped in wax paper and put it up for a few days. the blade is still very sharp but i will hone it . It's a near wedge i believe. anyway these were cheap enough so i thought i'd give them a go.

The Tally Ho got attention today. it turned out to be 6/8 and it cleaned up rather well. still hadn't got the light box going but will post photos later. It honed up good and shaves good. the scales are ok but if I keep it I will order some black horn and put another set on it . anyway so far so good.
