Another Chinese Sheffield, Colley & Co.
Colley & Co. worked from their Arundel St. address from 1834 - 1841. Lots of Colley names in Tweedale's Directory. The trade mark is an 'S' over crossed pipes. A near wedge 7/8 tapering to 6/8. It's long at 3 1/2" from toe to heal with little hone wear. The barbers notch shape is quite different and the tang has upper and lower jimps. I have seen the spiked point tang on a few other Chinese razors. Honey horn scales are pretty delaminated but all there. A lead wedge and brass pins holds it all together. The name Johnson is scratched into the sclaes. I guess I was meant to have this as that is my last name.

I had to look up grob.
From Urban Dictionary: The part of a mans boxers which keeps the genitalia in place, the size of the gob can vary greatly however and is rarely specified as to whether pants have large or small grobs, which can come as quite a surprise when you get them home
'these pants have such a large grob that its uncomfortable'
The razor is very cool, grob and all...looks like it has an unusual treatment on the toe, spine side...Nice Razor!"Call me Ishmael"

Lovely razor Karl...Your right about there being a lot of different 'Colley's', although you don't see them that often. I have a 'Colley & Hargreaves.
