Stopper cap mounted in the bottle is loose. Probably whatever seal was in there deteriorated many years ago. I don't know if I should screw with it and see if there is some type of sealer I could inject carefully up in there to seal it. Don't want to ruin the charm of an antique bottle and if nothing is feasible I'll just fill it with an AS colored water and add it to my shelf.

Ask Bongo if the cap can be removed with damaging the glass & the cap itself, if so there are probably several options for a sealer. I would not inject under the cap.

    NewellVW,

I'm only guessing but I'd say that cap has been removed from the glass lip before.
In your first pic (enlarged below) you can see what looks like uneven recrimping marks/indentations.
Definitely not the way it left the factory !!

You can also see that the vertical metal pouring tube goes through the cap and into the bottle itself.
This would never have come into contact with the aftershave by itself.
It would have been covered with a cylinder of cork. See below pics.

Having said that, you should be able to remove the cap by gently rocking it from side to side,
especially if, as you say, it is already loose.

The fact that there are no loose bits of cork at the bottom of the bottle reinforces the idea that the cap
was removed previously and the bottle cleaned out and refilled.

If you want to go the whole-hog, you could also insert a disc-shaped piece of cork under
the removed cap itself, with a hole in the middle, like a holey dollar !!

Good luck and fill it up with the precious Pinaud liquid
