    Default Two Bakelite DEs

Got these locally today just because I had no bakelite DEs and thought they were interesting. The first one is a 1932 Canadian Tech with a bakelite handle.

The second is a British Wardonia.

Got them cleaned up so I think I'll give the Wardonia a go.

Had to go to plan B and use the Tech. Looking up info on the Wardonia I thought it looked like they took a proprietary blade and seems that is so. OTH the Tech shaved like every other Tech I have used, mild but not too close. I guess I just like aggressive DEs.

I haven't seen many Bakelite handles. Learn something new every day! And ya it's hard to go back to mild if your used to aggressive, just for grins the other day I tryed my Fatboy on a 7. I think I'll just stick to a 9. Tc

Nice score Bob. Never seen Safety razors like this before, thanks for sharing. Will you try and hunt down some blades?

    Thanks Andrew.

I just might take a stab at finding some blades for the Wardonia sometime. They made both the older thick blades like the older Gillettes and newer thin ones like we have now. It is just a matter of hole shape and spacing so I just might try and Mickey Mouse a new blade to fit, if I get ambitious.

Yea, they even made them in OD green for the military during the war, I think.

Came in matching case/kit very collectable.

Did some snipping and clipping on an Astra SP blade today to make it fit the Wardonia. Worked out just fine and the Wardonia gave a nice close smooth shave. Now I am really happy with that acquisition.

No, just a little clipping to fit the prongs in the top cap. Helped to flip the base plate over too as the wrong side has the handle attached to it in the photo.

I saw these last week. Definitely a nice score Bob. It was great you got a blade to fit the Wardonia plus a nice shave from it.
