Frist Wedge: ID please :) Douziech. A Rodez
Picked this up in an antique store for $50.
Stamps: DOUZIECH
A RODEZ
A quick google shows that Rodez is a French town, perhaps its was there, Douziech links to a Eugene Douziech from Rodez but that's all I could find...
Would love to know more about it, especially if it's a true wedge and whether the blade was always "thicker" at the toe or if the heel has been honed down.
Only some spine wear, I think it will clean up nicely. The scales are some kind of plastic, I'm not sure what material or if they are the original ones but they should clean up too.
Great condition, no pitting. There is the numbers 254 one the toe end of the scales (no pic) but they look hand carved after the fact. There is a name on each side of the scales too. Looks like Perry on one side and Grimwald on the other.

Andrew, I don't mean to hijack your thread but I have a similar wedge with no info available.
All I have is the French town too, so you're not alone

Thanked: 4249Eugene Douziech, was a retail merchant in Rodez, France, a sort of general store with a cutlery section as advertise. Difficult to know the real maker, but definitely a high quality french razor made for his store. Best guess would be around 1920-1935 give or take a few.

The older businesses of the 19th and 18th century not always thought of putting cities or countries on their products, just the owner's name. Love wedges.
