    Default Filarmonica Sub Cero 13

    Hello all,

I just scored this wonderful razor. Filarmonica's have a reputation for being great shavers and now I have 2. It looks to be a touch over 6/8. Could use alittle cleaning but in great shape over all. I love the translucent scales and the gold on the blade. Really classy

Coming all the way from Japan so it was way off the radar for most of you...lol
The price was a steal for a Filarmonica so I pulled the trigger.

Bonus: I just read "avoid buying any that don't have "Jose Monserrat Pou" stamped on them, but supposedly the razors missing the JMP stamping were made in the 1980s after the death of the founder JMP and quality in the razors took a real nose-dive."

    Hurray for me

    Cool, Cheetah! I have a 14 Pou and a 13 non-Pou. Think I will fire up the non-Pou and see what's up?

    I rest my case.

    lovely razor.
I have lots of JMP 13s and 14s and one that is a non-JMP. I don't think there is much of a difference, and the non-JMP 14 has the most comfortable, substantial tang of any of them. It is one of the engraved (not screen printed) razors that is identical to the JMP ones except for the omission of JMP. Some of them have no engraving at all, but are sort of printed/screen printed.

I almost bid on that razor. I've been looking for a sub cero in good condition for a while but whenever u see that stuff coming from Japan I get a bit cautious. That vendor in particular constantly has above average condition blades for sale and I'm always wondering where he gets these from. Now that I know someone had actually received an item from him maybe I'll go for it as well! Congrats on the awesome new blade man.
