Great buy!!
If you haven't disassembled it yet, that looks good enough to not bother risking cracking the scales taking it apart. If you have access to an ultrasound cleaner, some warm water and Dawn dish soap will clean the inside of the scales very quickly

I have two of these. Looking at the last photo I would say no the blade has not been shorten and is original length. I have noticed a difference in blade lengths between fancy models and plan models.
