I am in Texas and all I have is a shavette so no worries on that side of the house. Outback I kind of want to do a test just for fun...lol.

I would not be too despondent about it, Redcane. Not all Leaders are necessarily disposed to rot.
I think it depends upon the environment celluloid is subjected to. It could well have been sitting next to outback's razor for 50 years? You could give it a go and see if it works out. I think the scales should go, however.
Lots of nice examples of Engels Leaders out there at times. I could post a pic of a brand-new one for reference tomorrow.
