Thanked: 3222Shavemac Custom Brush
Just got this in the mail today and it was shipped 07 Dec. Never get anything shipped in December because of the Christmas mail volume. Looks to have been worth the wait though.
I had communicated with Mr. Bernd Blos owner of Shavemac concerning what I was looking for in a brush handle and knot. I took his expert advice on the knot grade to use and sent him a photo of the handle I wished to have copied in butterscotch colour but with scaled up dimensions. I wanted a handle 70mm long and 40mm at it's widest. I also asked for the engraving to be done in a specific way. It appears Shavemac came through with flying colours in supplying me what I wanted. I can't say enough good things about Mr. Bernd Blos and his staff in their ability to fulfill my request accurately and in short order.
The first photo is the custom Shavemac, unbloomed, with the brush I wanted up scaled.

Now to lather up and enjoy the new toy.

Very nice - what are the details on the knot?
I really like the handle and colour, I'm finding lately that I really enjoy the longer handled brushes, especially if you want to create a nice warm lather in the scuttle.

Thanked: 3222The knot is a DO1 2 band fan shape. With my cheapo digital micrometer and mediocre skills the knot measures about 28mm with about a 50mm loft.
Just used it and it will hold a lot of soap, lather it like a good thing, no hog, with soft tips and great backbone. I think we have the makings of a winner here. Got it hanging to dry and bloom right now. I suspect it will not bloom as much as the Rooney Victorian which has a smaller knot and higher lot.

What a wonderful brush. I've ordered a half dozen brushes and knots from him this year, and his service is always outstanding. Congratulations.
