Default George Brittian 8/8ths Anchor Razor

My latest acquisition. I think 250 Euro is a good price for this. It feels like shaving with an axe but the shave is superb. I only have about fifteen straights and this one shaves the best. Anyone have an idea as to approximate date of this razor. I know Brittian, Wilkinson and Brownell were is business from about 1780 to 1840.

Verdon Brittain died in 1843 at which point the Brittian and Brownell families parted. The Standard Guide to Razors 3rd addition has a picture of a similar razor dated 1820 to 1830.

That is a beast of a razor, but beautiful! I like the comparison to shaving with an axe
