I have a set of scales for this one
This is suppose to be a wade and butcher Diamond edge 5/8. if so i think it should have horn scales. I happen to have a nice set of horn that just might fit. anyway i'm a sucker for these when the price is right. I may not keep it long but it'll be fun for a little while.

I agree. That blade wants to live in horn. Looks to be in great condition too.

Thanked: 4827I love those diamond edge blades. Something about the look of the quill back I think. It will be a gem once you work it over.

+1 on the horn scales. The scales its in now would look better on a German or US made blade.

I thought when i saw it and read that it was a 5/8 that it didn't look quite like 5/8. Luckily I was right. turns out to be 13/16. It had been re scaled and not a bad job. a little rough around where the hinge pin is. I will re-scale it in horn. If the set i have is not the right size i will try to order some black horn off the internet and make a set for it. the blade is in very good shape and only needs a little polishing. When i get to where i can i will take a few photos of several blades i acquired in the last few months.

Just wondering if they ever made these razors with ivory or bone scales. I've got a couple of sets each that may fit. I like to stay in the period if possible.

Thanked: 4827I have a couple of Henckels in bone but none in ivory...yet. I do have some Ivory scales looking for a new blade though.
