    Default Major Decanter Score!

So the fetching Mrs. GI and I were cruising local thrift shops for treasures I put these in the cart. She immediately gives me the look.

HER: What the hell is all that?

ME: Nick Nacks for the Shave Cave (I had to use terms she'd undertstand).

HER: But what are they for? (Oddly I never asked her those questions about porcelain children and the like I've seen her buy over the years)

ME: They're for holding after shave.

    HER: Whatever, (eye roll)

Got all four for about $15.00. Aftershave assignments will be as follows: Pipe- Clubman Bay Rum, Goose- Clubman, Duck- Aqua Velva, Grouse- English Leather.

Funny how even in the world of nick nacks, we favor function (i.e. it looks good and it also holds aftershave). This extends to other forms of ornamentation among men. See also, trophy wife, 911 Porsches, 21 foot Boston Whalers, Monster Trucks, etc. (not that I have any of the aforementioned.

I think thats a quail, not a grouse.

My dad had the goose when I was a kid, and a pheasant (I think).

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

There is a shop like 15 min from me that has a bunch of those, I remember seeing the pipe specifically. She had like a entire two sided shelve full of Avon Bottles. Enjoy
