Two Historic Pairs from 2016 Gator Cutlery Show Lakeland, Fla.
Even though I have typically shaved for close to 6 months plus with the same razor, I have been attending the Gator Cutlery Show in Lakeland, Florida for several years and it always seems I find something to bring home. Two Gentlemen's Sets were selected by me today as well as a couple other razors. John Weiss London and Mappin Brothers need no special introduction around here no doubt. Thought you might enjoy viewing these two exquisite sets.

Well done! Those are some outstanding pieces.
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

Very nice! Mappin Bro. are awesome razors and are not found very often, especially in that fantastic condition. Congrats!

Thank you! I am inclined to have some new scales made up for the Mappin pair since I like the blade design. This is the third pair of Weiss razors I have owned and they are quite nice as well but they may need to fund any restoration on the Mappin set.

Here are the other two, a D. Peres Solingen and a Herder "Cross Keys". These spoke to me as examples of what could be good shavers.

Thanked: 3225All great finds, congrats. Getting a gentlemen's set is on my bucket list. That De Peres is nothing to sneeze at either.

Good to see you back A H, those are a very nice set of razors, gorgeous.
What are you using as your daily shavers, you had some beautiful MK's IIRC?

All of my past razors are gone. I was until today down to my daily shaver, a Michael Hunter & Son Sheffield Wedge, and my Great Great Grandfather's W&B. 800 razors have come and gone in the last 9 years. I truly don't believe I will start a major repurchase jaunt however. I am tempted to have the Mappin pair restored but nothing stays long in my den.
